The Pozernick Racing Team is located in Manitoba Canada with the majority of racing done at the Gimli Motorsports Park in Gimli, Manitoba.
Our team consists of husband and wife team, Grant and Laurie. Grant pilots a Dodge Daytona powered by a 572 cubic inch mopar big block while Laurie guides a Boulton dragster rocketed by a 468 cubic inch big block Chevy.
Two thousand and nine is Laurie's Rookie season and she is definitely becoming a force to be reckoned with. Grant has had some early issues with the Daytona but those are ironed out now and the true depth of competition and skill are coming to light for both drivers.

The Daytona performed very well on Sunday. The new converter built by TSC Products worked exacly as it should. It stalls at approx 5200 and the revs are at 6400 when I cross the finish line. Thanks to Steve at TCS Products for building a kick-ass converter. The patched tire held it's own and it's as good as new. The Daytona ran a best time of 9.08 at 149 mph. Here are the results:
Round #1 - my competitor didn't make the call - so I won
Round #2 - I had the Dunlop Brothers, but managed to squeek by them
Round #3 - I was up against Tom Paterson who is a very good racer. Our reaction times were almost identical, I ran a 9.10 on a 9.08 dial and just cross the finish line before Tom...it was close
Round #4 - I had the bye into finals. I dialed in a 9.08 and ran a 9.09
Round #5 - The Finals I was up againt Lucas Mlinar. We went up to the staging lanes, but it started to rain and racing was over for the day. We decided to split the prize money and then race on July 11 for the trophy and points.
Thanks to my Dad and Tony for helping out!

What a day it was!
Time trials went much better than I could have hoped for. Jojo was catching on pretty quick to the whole 'consistency is key' concept. I guess much the same thing could be said for my reaction time also. Between the three time trials we were looking at a range of 9.75-9.78 at 138.86MPH combined with a best light of .4379.
Round one my competition was unable to make the call so it was an automatic win.
Round two was a little femme on femme action. Two girls, two dragsters and only one winner. Jojo proved himself and more by running a 9.743 on a dialed time of 9.74 at 136.8MPH. YES!!! It really doesn't get much better than that.
Quarter finals put me against the same guy who took me out last races. Oh that Tim! With a much better reaction time (on both our parts I might add), it was a double breakout. I guess Jojo forgot about that consistency thing and was going more for the speed. Unfortunately, crossing the finish line first does not ensure a win. (But if it did I would have won!) Our break out was a little worse and we ended the day there.
It was a great ending. JoJo and I are making great progress and having the time of our lives along the way.
Grant is going to add his own update but I just have to say that it is much more enjoyable having both cars out. The Mistress (the Daytona) behaved well... too well actually. I see that the fight will be on again for my husband's affection. Soon enough it will happen... the wife vs the Mistress and then we will see where his loyality really lies.
I's like to send a huge thanks to Ron for being the best crew cheif out there. I really appreciate all the work you put in to make both cars make the call. And Tony... great pics as usual! Hopefullt the weather will cooperate a bit better for the make up race July 12 so my parents can come out and see what the fuss is all about.
Oh... today I received my official IHRA license and my permanent number in the mail.![]()
Have a good one.
